Scientist, Discovery Research

Requires:

PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or Genetics; experience in rodent handling (drug delivery, necropsies, blood sampling, cell implantation); expertise in nucleic acid analysis and molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, and RT–PCR; biochemistry techniques including Western blot and ELISA; immunohistochemical staining experience is preferred. Experience with rodent models of neuromuscular disorders (e.g., mdx mouse) and/or of inflammatory disease, and culturing and in vitro manipulation of primary myoblasts is extremely desirable.

Duties

The applicant will carry out and supervise in vivo and primary cell culture experiments on oligonucleotide drug delivery, and analyze the results using standard molecular biology and biochemical methods. Other responsibilities include design, execution and interpretation of the experiments, as well as reporting the results in presentations, articles and publications. The applicant will report to the director of Discovery Research, be required to provide input to forward company’s research projects, and to stay abreast of scientific literature and emerging trends in biotechnology.
